In an effort to reduce the waste that ends up in local landfills, SQCC has instituted a consumer product waste recycling program. In this program, customer products that are obsolete are recycled into bricks that can then be used in building projects:
Recycling Process
Recently when a customer discontinued one of its product lines they requested that SQCC dispose of the remaining stock and materials in an environmentally friendly manner.
SQCC listened to the customers request and decided to do research on an environmentally friendly way of disposing of all of its consumer waster. After doing the research, SQCC chose to work with Kewei, the largest ECO-tech environmental power station in Dongguan. Kewei is the local major ECO-tech station that deals with burning consumer waste and using it to generate electrical power.
Burning Process
Garbage is collected in a warehouse and then put into boiler where it is burned with a mix of 15%-20% coal. The temperature is kept at a controlled 850℃-950℃. The burning process takes approximately three seconds, and the level of oxygen created is approximately 6%-8%. This method greatly reduced the amount of carbon dioxide produced.
Containment of Resulting Gas
Gases released during the process are contained in special gas disposal equipment. Lime is then added to the gases in order to neutralize acid gas and active carbon and dioxins.
Final Process
The final ash dreg created by the burning process is then turned into paving stones and bricks that can be used for building.
The end result turns this:
